    ​Asharqia Chamber discusses the new requirements in the sector of women's salons and centers

    Asharqia Chamber, represented by the Women's Workshops and Centers Committee, discussed, on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, through visual communication technology, and in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, the new requirements in the women's workshops and centers sector, and the meeting was attended by His Excellency the Assistant Undersecretary for Licenses and Municipal Requirements in the Ministry, Eng. Abdul-Rahman Al-Arwan, Head of the Women's Sub-municipality and Director of Operational Excellence in Amanat Al-Qassim, Amira Al-Saraikh, and Ahed Al-Amin and Jawaher Al-Anzi, from the Technical Affairs Agency at the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, and the meeting was moderated by the head of the Women's Workshops and Centers in the Chamber, Shuaa Al-Duhailan, who emphasized the role played by the Asharqia Chamber in achieving communication between businesswomen who are the owners of salons and women's centers, and the government agencies entrusted with it.​

    During the meeting, the speakers reviewed the new requirements, including the definitions, general provisions, and practices of female workers, as well as those updates related to the issuance of licenses or the same technical matters or shop equipment, operation, maintenance, health, security, and safety requirements.


    They explained that the application of the new requirements aims to increase investment opportunities by allowing the addition of some activities and reducing the minimum required spaces, improving the internal work environment, which contributes to the attractiveness of employment, improving the cultural scene, increasing the rates of settlement and combating concealment, as well as adding transparency and clarity through the preparation and issuance of lists Self-evaluation, and they indicated that the corrective plan is scheduled to end with the final of August of this year so that all stores are committed to the old and modern controls.

    The participants provided explanations on the executive rules for the controls of practicing the updated female decorating activity and indicated that the new requirements, with their clarity, will reduce the risks facing the investor, as well as from the commercial cover-up by requiring the provision of electronic sales devices.

    They indicated that the licenses-related updates stipulated that the investor should not be less than eighteen years old and that the procedures for issuance, cancellation, renewal, and amendment be following the municipal licensing procedures system and its implementing regulations, and that if the shop moves to another location, the license must be canceled and a new license extracted. Update That each activity added to the women's grooming license has an independent municipal license, and updates have allowed the addition of one or more activities such as selling cosmetic tools and supplies, selling other luxuries related to the activity, the presence of a female photography studio, and other activities related to the activity.

    Emphasizing that the new controls, whether related to licenses or other matters of concern, will ensure control and quality control and that updating the requirements came within a package of activities that the ministry undertakes to keep pace with the Kingdom's 2030 vision so that women's concerns and centers are an enabling element to achieve the vision's goals in encouraging competitive investment following​ the highest safety standards and procedures, and controlling the development process, which will positively affect the improvement of the work environment within the commercial establishments.​
